Posted - 28/08/2009 : 23:23:12 firstly would like to say hello, as i am new to the forum, but a few of you might know me from royalpython.co.uk
I have just bought an anery BCI but a total newbie with them, .
i was just wondering about temps?
humidity?
size of food?
is it the same as royal pythons? as they are around 32c warm end, 50% humidity and food weight is around 10/15% of the snakes body weight.
how often to handle?
sorry about all the questions, but want to know everything, to help the little guy
any way, a few pics of the little un
he is only 3 months old, so really tiny and very cute

Posted - 04/09/2009 : 11:43:12 Good news! Feather's the same, every time I've offered her food it's been a case of "What's that? Dinner!" bam! No jiggling it around for five minutes first like with royals... |

Posted - 03/09/2009 : 17:44:03 fed him for first time tonight on a 9g mouse, (it looked tiny compared to the rats i feed my royal, lol) he struck straight away, and tbh i was shocked at how fast they strike, (about a 100x faster than my royal), i was very happy that he ate as it was his first feed with me and i have only had him 5 days, so only just settling, but then again, it is a bci and as everyone says, they are dustbins and always eat. lol |

this is his full title, instead of just an anery bci like i said first.

From an Anery to a Salmon hypo het Anery (DH Ghost)

Posted - 29/08/2009 : 13:24:58 heya and welcome over here too i saw yur post on TRP about your boa, he's a sweetie
temps are about 30-32*C in the warm end but only a few degrees lower in the cool end if possible, this is easier to acieve when they're bigger and in a viv with a bulb/rep rap or similar rather than a heatmat. prolonged exposure to lower temps should be avoided if possible
humidity is just normal room humidity although a damp hide might be appreciated for shedding
food item at 10-15% of its body weight is a good guide too, and rats in preference to mice
so yeah, pretty much like a royal but they get bigger and are generally they're better feeders lol |
