Hey all.. Just got my first boa (rainbow boa or any boa actually)

I've only had my Black Milksnake up until now.

Got her from David from rainbowsrus!

Her names Doris. I've been having issues with her being nippy and defensive, and I know I just need to be persistent and not allow her biting me to stop me from handling her (or it'll reinforce biting as a way to avoid handling) any "hand training" suggestions are welcome!

Some pics:

First meal (from me at least, shes obviously had other meals lol)

Nice and full!

OK, that sounds good then. :-)

Oh the "see through hide" is merely the humid hide, its filled with tons of moss that she just hides in anyway. She has two hides (one on warm one on "room temp" (low 70's) side) other than that which she spends most of her time in

Hi Skumbo! Doris is looking fine -- and very plump! ;-) One move that might increase her feeling of personal security, and thus cut down on biting, is to give her an opaque hide. The see-thru tub, while great for checking on her, might not fit these very secretive snakes' needs, especially as babies. (However, you can make them work. Other options are to fill the hide with moss so she can bury herself -- this serves the same purpose in addition to boosting humidity -- and/or place it at the back of the tank and/or under other cage furniture.) Again, looking good!

How do you format for the thumbnail then link to big pictures?

Ive always used HTML, looks like its off on this forum, heh..

I get this when i try to edit a post of mine:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: 'rs'

/forum/post.asp, line 642

I'll get a pic up of my BMS when he sheds, hes about 5 days into a shed right now so the new coat of paint should be showing soon, he just started changing color noticeably last time he shed!
