Posted - 26/10/2011 : 22:09:58 I saw on the list of toxic vegetation Pine. I was just about to put together a climbing frame in my Royals new viv made from broom handles I'm not sure if there pine but they dried I assume there kiln dried any ideas if there toxic I'm not even sure they are pine any help guys as I was really excited I bought some poles and a load of plastic pipe fittings |

Posted - 19/09/2011 : 17:36:10 Luke, any wood gathered from the "wild" will always carry the risk of trasmitting unwanted guests like parasites, molds, or bacteria. If you follow this route, make sure to bake the wood in the oven for several hours to kill anything that might be on it. Best bet though is to buy pre-treated wood from a pet store. They can even tell you which type will best withstand the high-humidity environment Brazilians require.
