Hi guys, new here... I'm getting my first BRB TOMORROW and need some advice! I'm keeping it in a 14ltr rub but need to know how many air holes to put in,without affecting the humidity??? Any help appreciated,
Cheers, Matt.

Matt, start with fewer holes. You can always add more later, but it's tough to take them away. High humidity is key for these animals.

Thanks guys,it all seems to be settling down and stabilising now! An I right in saying that with such high humidity the rub walks should be dripping wet?

I put an absolute minimum of 2 rows of ventilation holes every 1 inch on both of the longest sides of any tub, and I add 1 row on each short end for good measure. I'll often add a 3rd and/or 4th row on one side just to ensure good air flow. While it's important to have higher humidity, without proper ventilation, it can be a dangerous thing. Good ventilation is *very* important to a snake's health and when possible, I also add 3-4 holes on the lid just to ensure that if the humidity gets too high, that some can escape out the top.

If you do end up with to many, clear packing tape on the outside will cover the holes and you wont even notice its there. Make sure its on the outside, snakes+tape=bad things.

Hi Matt, welcome to the forum and congrats on your soon to be new snakie. :) I am really terrible with measurements, but I think I can actually give you some ok advice here. Start with just a few holes (maybe like a row of 4 across each side of the tub) and then see how your humidity is holding up. If it looks super wet in there, then go ahead and put another hole in each side. Again test your humidity levels. Just keep adding holes until you have it just right. It is always easy to add more holes, but can be challenging to cover up too many. ;) Best of luck and I look forward to seeing pics of your baby when you get it!
