I have just brought home my new terrarium for my large Brazilian Rainbow Boa female. She is about 1 and a half years old now. She is currently in a 3 foot Exo Terra terrarium and the one I have purchased is 4.5 foot. It is very big and I'm hoping she will be happy in it. It looks big enough to house both of my Brazilian Rainbow Boa's, I have a male and female, male isn't even 1 yet. I haven't set it up as of yet because the stand for it hasn't come, so when that comes I will set it all up and put a picture up, or might do a video aswell and show you people. I think the tank is MASSIVE and well enough space for her. It's taken me quite a while to find this and I am glad I've finally found one :)

I know yeh they do get considerably bigger than rainbows, I have a common boa constrictor and she, now, at an age of less than 6months, has a bigger head than my female Brazilian, and her body gerth, has a mass amount of room for growth. Just handling her I notice she has ALOT of growing to do. Retic would be my dream snake but unfortunately do not have the space for one of them bad boys, so a dwarf retic will have to do. My local reptile dealer can get hold of them occasionally. Getting my stand for my new vivarium on Friday, I really cannot wait to set it all up and give my snake the home she deserves. Like a little boy at Christmas I am haha! this is her Christmas present :)

They are very cool. Even the dwarf ones get pretty big though compared with rainbows!

I appreciate where the two of you are coming from, and no, I don't want either of them to become sick or have any sort of problem. I only said that the terrarium was big enough for the pair of them, wasn't actually suggesting I was going to put the pair in together. At first, months ago, before I bought my 2nd and 3rd snake, I was contemplating putting the male and female in the same enclosure, but after reading a lot about them, and the bad points in housing snakes together, I honestly prefer to keep them separate. In this case however, I would only put my two BRB's together when I breed them, which is what I would like to do, but obviously not yet, few years down the line when the male is of big enough size, weight and age. I am getting the stand for my new terrarium on Thursday or Friday, so once that is set up, I will set up the terrarium on top of it, and start filling it with hiding places, vines, bark, and other accessories that I think would make the terrarium look attractive not only from the outside but from the inside as well. I am a very dedicated snake keeper even though I only have 3 atm, and haven't had them for that long, I find them absolutely amazing animals and are willing to satisfy them with what ever it takes. This tank for this type of snake is where I start. The size is immense just looking at it and cannot wait for it to be set up. I spray and maintain the humidity on a day to day basis with my BRB's but during shed, I maintain and spray them on a daily basis. morning evening and before I go to sleep. The new terrarium, for those interested ( if any at all ) cost me in the region of £150 - £200. Cannot remember exact amount, but I will state it on my next update. Really handy terrarium for any type of reptile. Thanks for your comments :)

Congrats on the pickup, VXR! I agree with Sue that the two snakes should be housed separately, however. Think of it as risk control: if one got sick, would you want the other one to, as well?

Make sure you put extra hiding places in the viv for your girl so that she feels secure in such a large new viv. But the dimensions are great, very generous for a single Brazilian -- a half foot more space than even I give my (well spoiled) snakes!

Glad you have managed to source a large enclosure for your female BRB, looking forward to pics when you have set it up.
I myself would not house my male and female BRB's together unless I was breeding them and then only for the mating sessions, but that is just a personal preference as I think co-housing snakes causes too many issues.
