Don't worry- I think you being bit is a good sign- It shows he's hungry

Bites don't hurt but they do bleed. Hope it's not worried you too much

Yeah I'm not to worried, I'm thinking he will strike eventually, as i tried to get him out for a feed tonight and he bit me! i really wasn't quick enough, he wasn't making a noise or seemed pissed off he just made a strike and tried to rap himself around my finger and i had to carefully pry him off! yeah it didn't hurt, all tho there was blood!.... so after that little escapade i then couldn't get him interested in the rat pup so hes back in the box for food :( lol

Don't worry about striking, if your snake is eating I wouldn't care ;)

Hi, I,m sorry for the late reply as I have been very busy. But I have had a few problems with feeding my BRB, I tried placing her in a shoe box with a small water bowl and a rat pup and placing it in the cool side of her tank, and she has eaten every time I place her in the box just when her heat lamp goes out and it seems to be working. I'm still trying to see of she will strike for it, but at least shes eating :)

I use eco-earth with Ruby so it's safe to use

How did the feeding go?

peat isn't ideal like you said, eco earth is quite popular and commonly used when the required humidity is quite high.
i heat prey items in a plastic tub (dedicated to snake food so as not to offend my OH!) over a mug of boiled water for 5-10 mins, that usually does the trick. but keep an eye on it, if they get too hot they can get messy!

I was using a pete mix bedding that my local reptile centre uses, but that bedding was very dirty and i didn't know how snake friendly it really was... am now trying eco earth? is that a good bedding? it doesn't hold the humidity as well as the last, and I'm having to mist a bit more, but he seems to like it as he likes to burrow in it in the day.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'm going to see if he will eat tomorrow and I'm going to try what people have said and heat the rat pup up a little first.

Feeding at night works for my BRB, so it should be ok for yours too.

I feed mine in a feeding tub (large plastic sandwich box) and place her back in the viv while she eats. She seems to prefer the privacy of her own home, but without any chance of eating the substrate.

What substrate are you using? If its anything that can cause impaction your better off feeding it outside of the viv. Try to feed the snake when its active.
