OK, so I know a few people have already done topics on this, but I thought I would join them with my version of a Vivexotic VX36 vivarium modification.

I should explain that I am not very good at DIY stuff, and I am not all that creative. But I have given this my best shot, and I look forward to comments positive or negative...

Materials:
VX36 vivarium
6" x 4" Polypropylene (Black - 3mm)
3" x 1" Polycarbonate (Clear - 6mm)
2 Hinges
2 Locks
Many Bolts / Screws
Handle
Aquarium Sealant
Laminated "Rainforest" poster.
Hides, Branches etc (the usual)

OK, so here it goes...

The DIY section on here has a detailed version, so I will try to show things that I did a little differently...

First started with viv, and cut the polyprop sheets to appropriate sizes. They got stuck on where required...

Then I started to make the new door, inspired to copy the style on the expensive plastic vivs... There is a gap of only 1mm all the way round the door when closed, so no chance of escape...

Then I added the background, and took the protective stuff off the door.

Then to wire in the ceramic, and put in all the stats & probes before sealing with aquarium sealant.

Was drying for 3 days, although not really sure how long it took to dry, I kept thinking it was wet because I left the cap off the silicone gun, and it was leaking in the room for the 3 days, so it did not stop smelling of vinigar until I caught myself out, and moved the viv into another room, where the smell quickly dissapated...

Finally add all the decor (all of this is either cork or artificial, to minimise any chances of it going mouldy... And its now just sitting, warming up and letting the temps settle before I move the lucky girl in there probably in a few days.

Thanks for reading. Please comment if there is something you think I have missed, or done wrong! I know the outside is a bit unsightly, but its for the snake, and she will only see the inside after all!
