This is Skyler. She's just finished digesting a medium rat and was up and about, so I snapped an image. Yes, you can achieve healthy Rainbow Boas on newspaper, and here's the proof. Just a note on that subject; I wouldn't try it unless you've got experience and pay very close attention to your snakes. She's not even looking as good as she normally does because she's just beginning a moult

I agree with the mold comment. Interestingly, it happens much more quickly to newsprint than to paper towel. That said, I use a mixture of the two for all of my rainbows.

The only reason I mentioned that you need to know what you're doing is because if you don't change it often for higher humidity animals, it can develop mould quickly, which leads to health problem and I don't want to see anyone's snakes getting sick

Just a friendly comment...news paper is a pretty good medium to keep any snake on with or with out experience...and as for her moult...judging by the iridecence she is still a way off from it by the looks in the pic.
