An excellent point and a great place to ask. ;) :) I definitely wouldn't put the flash right up to their eyes, but just using it from the short distance you are taking the pic from really shouldn't cause any harm. |

fair dos ya learn something new everyday. I just assumed that because they're nocturnal, that a flash, would make them feel uncomfortable, kinda like a bat. To be honest, I've taken a few pictures of my snake with a flash for the iridescence coloring look and it's never affected mine but I thought I would just ask, seeing as this is a forum :)! Thanks. |

I have taken numerous pictures of Marius with and without the flash and it has never negatively affected him at all.  |

I've never heard or seen any evidence that flash photography fazes or effects them at all. If it did, I would think they would move their sight away.

is it okay to take a picture that close to a snake with a flash?? I would have thought this would harm the sight of the snake!?!?!?!?!??! |
