I've just picked up my first boa, a female BRB yearling. She's really, really placid considering she's in shed.
Big thanks to the guys at SPW for keeping hold of her for me!
I've decided to name her Freyja.

Posted - 04/02/2011 : 00:22:32 Urbandruid, it varies widely (and wildly!) by individual. Usually, animals will be at their darkest just before shedding. However, that is not always the case, even between related snakes. For example, I added two sisters to my collection this year (profiled under the "Jade twins"), and one goes amazingly dark just before shed, and the other does not. Go figure, lol? ;-) |

Posted - 03/02/2011 : 21:22:12 Hi congrats on the snake. I was all kinds of excited before I read she was in shed. I love the dark Brazilians if they still have a good iridescence. I look forward to seeing her grow up and out of shed. |
