Hey everyone

Firstly, let me ask a question related to snakes and handling- Jade is now quite a whopper, has grown pretty quickly since she moved up to weaner rates from large mice. But with this extra growth I've had to adapt my style of handling with her. She used to be content curling up on my hand and having a little nose around, but with her size has come confidence, and now she does things like reaching out into the air with half her body length, and generally proving a bit more of a handful than before.

Has anyone got any hints on handling larger snakes? Ie, kings and so on? She's at the size now where she can do a single wrap to hold on, and then a good 3ft of her just goes wherever she pleases!!

Secondly, apologies for my absence, have been jobhunting like mad, and have finally landed a role and Principal Product Designer for a startup technology firm locally.. *Sigh of relief!!* The MD was from the US actually, VP for a companny called TekScan if any of you guys have heard of it.. Anyway I hope to get back into the swing of things here!!

Congrats on the new job, Oscar!!!

Regarding handling, this just comes with size -- mine do the exact same thing. You just need an extra free hand at this point to stop their head/neck from "grabbing" on to whatever looks/smells interesting. Or, place her over your shoulders, leaving you two free hands. ;-) Good luck!
