Posted - 12/08/2012 : 14:42:25 Just checked on Arco. She is most defiantly in shed. We are going to wait until she has shed until we offer her another meal. Thanks again for all your helpful advice. It was just me being paranoid!!! Better to be safe than sorry though I suppose!!! :) |

Posted - 10/07/2012 : 21:14:21 Todd, thank you! I've seen far too many people say "2.5 years, 1500 grams" as sexual maturity...and that's like pimping teenagers. I much prefer an extra year of growth, and personally aim for 3.5 years and 1800+ (better 2000+) grams. Dee, I find my Brazilians generally seem to max once they reach 2200-2300 grams. |

Posted - 09/07/2012 : 22:49:30 That depends on how much they're fed and how well they're kept. Of course, snakes never really stop growing, but they hit sexual maturity around 3 years of age and start to slow their growth shortly thereafter. By the time it's 7-8 years old you'll barely notice much growth at all, but it will indeed still grow as long as it lives. This is pretty standard and applies to most commonly kept snakes. |
