Posted - 20/10/2010 : 21:11:57 I was thinking of buying an ultrasonic misting fogging unit that humidifies the air as well , just want to know if it is safe to use with my brbs..
I have two links below one with led lighting and one just plain:

I agree they are well expensive
and not that impressive either, i still have to mist the viv as the spray isn't fine enough i just find a localised soggy patch |

Posted - 22/10/2010 : 21:41:36 Sometimes trying to save money on reptile supplies by getting something not specifically meant for a reptile can cause more harm than it's worth. While you might get lucky and it doesn't affect your BRBs at all, it is also possible that it could cause them both to stress out completely and quit eating or even start regurging meals. You could maybe try buying the actual reptile fogger/mister one at a time to help with the costs. It isn't going to hurt one of them to wait just a little longer....if in the long run it is more beneficial and less stressful than something not meant for them. Just my two cents worth. |

They use similar units for Halloween effects, and I have two. :-) However, I'm not sure what impact an ultrasonic unit might have on a snake over the long term, especially effects that are not obvious.
The lighting question is easier: any source of 24/7 light has the *potential* to upset a snake's natural day/night cycle, adding stress. Even an LED.
Have you looked into a real misting system?
Well this is the same as the Exo Terra Foggers but just its own brand and a hell of alot cheaper , I have looked in to a misting system but they are over priced here they are around £70 for one and i need two so its going to be expensive so my cheapest bet is to go for the foggers that cost from £15 to £19 then i can afford two of them but i think i will give the ones with the LED lightings a miss if it is going to tamper with my boa's day/night circle .. |
