Posted - 07/02/2011 : 14:25:59 Oooooooh I was cleaning all snakes out and checking on them and then It was Mayhem's turn so i got him out then i had him on my hand as i went to put his lid on the bed he just bit my arm and i was like wow what the f*** hahah he had latched on my arm and then let go but felt like lil tiny pin ~p.ricks~ but it was more shock , I know i was saying i would love to feel a bite from the brbs but didn't expect this one to happen . He either bit my arm as it was a hairy arm and thought was a mouse or he just fancyed bitting me for no reason . But my misses thought it was funny lol... |

You were 100% correct to continue handling after the bite. Once a snake gets the idea bite = freedom, you're pretty much doomed. |

I know what you mean: I have one nippy juvenile, but the problem is she is *unpredictably* nippy. Some sessions she is a total sweetheart, and others she will start out sweet, bite you for no reason...and then go right back to being sweet. Odd little gal, suits her name perfectly.
I know you said on facebook but i forgot and i thought i whisperd to him that he gets treat if hes a good boy well today he was naughty so he will not be fed this so called rat until he is good and hungry to wean on to it lol..
I know let me guess It's Bixbite right ?
Do you think i did right by keep handling even after the bite as if nothing happend this is what i learned when i worked in a reptile shop for 2months i got bit left right and center and my workers was like never put them back or they will think freedom everytime they bite ? |

Lousie, it's not as bad as it sounds, and the surprise is the worst part (at least with babies). That said, I know what you mean: I have one nippy juvenile, but the problem is she is *unpredictably* nippy. I must admit I am more nervous of picking up Sissy than I am of my corns as she has one hell of a fast strike and I know I would jump a mile if she struck at me lol

Lol don't worry about being nervous the bite don't hurt it was just more shock then anything really as was not expecting it lol

So Ash, am I such a wuss now? Touche mate, touche. It's sharp tho isn't it, nothing like being bitten by a corn. They hook on for good!
Yes you are still a wuss wuss haha mine didn't hurt it just more shock that he actually bit me lol. And I can't really say if corns bite is as bad as boa as Mayhem is only a baby and i didn't really feel it although he did make me bleed lol i will let you know of the out come when he grows his head a little bigger with more teeth haha . |
