Hiya

I think zeus is getting ready to feed on larger portions as he is 61g and feeding on 4g fuzzies which he devours with great ease

What are the stages of food sizes up from the mice fuzzies that he is on at the moment ?

If your wanting to switch to rats Martin, I'd suggest getting some medium sized rat pinkies of about 6g, if your worried about zeus not accepting a rat, defrost it in a bag with a large mouse fuzzy of again around 6g (or a couple of smaller ones).
That way the scent of the mouse/mice should be passed on to the rat & if he does refuse the rat you can try the more familiar prey item which will also have picked up some of the rat scent.

I appreciate it may not be easy to purchase the exact sized prey items you require but it might be worth asking for them to be weighed before you purchase them.
I have the advantage of breeding my own rats so I am able to despatch them at the exact size & weight I require.
I have also been breeding small adult rats together resulting in what would be called pinkies from their weight but are more of a fuzzy from a developmental/appearance point of view.

I posted on the thread with Zeus' feeeding pics but will also reply here.
Zippy from the same clutch as Zeus has been fed rat pinkies since he arrived with me, he is currently eating a 7-8g rat pinky at least every 10days, Zippy weighs in at 73g.

Wow, a mouse fuzzy is tiny!

I start mine off at rat pinkies, which are about the same as a mouse hopper. Baby Brazilians are definitely large enough to take them from birth.

Around 75 grams, I check and see if the snake's girth is enough to move up to the next food size, which would be rat fuzzies. Rats pups are next, then rat weanlings, then small rats, and finally medium rats, which is where most Brazilians max out.

At 61g, I would try a mouse fuzzy for the next few meals, then switch up to the next size.

Good luck!
