Hi all
My Rainbow Boa got wedged down a plant pot hole today, to the point where he could not get out himself, the worst part was he got stuck because he had eaten the night before, so he could not get the lump where he had eaten through the hole, thus got stuck.

i had to gently pull him out and damaged a few scales along the way. However i think he may be breathing quicker it looking like him taking really deep breaths. However i could just be being over paranoid, he sill moving around, but i cant help but notice it looking like hes breathing harder and faster than usual.

Please advise

While I maintain that snakes are not terribly intelligent creatures, they often do know when you're trying to help them, even in a stressful situation. Well, okay...it's not so much that they *know*, it's more that they can recognize the help and are usually more concerned with using the assistance to get themselves out of the bad scene than they are in defending themselves.

Well I tipped the plant pot on its side, then i used both hands to maneuver the snake through back through the whole he went through......I kinda gently pushed him on one side then pulled on the other....I am quite surprised he didn't go for me

Thought as much about the breathing but just waned to make sure thanks I will just keep a close eye on him

Jenna, snakes will breath like that when they get stressed. Just keep a close eye on him to see if the behavior continues, in which case it *might* signal a more serious (internal) issue.

Out of curiosity, how did you get him out?
