Hi All,

Not entirely sure about these myself, so thought for everyone's benefit it may be worth discussing water treatment products...

Are they entirely necessary...? Or just a way for companies to make money from scared owners? I mean, there's so many! Calcium boosters, Vitamin D3, aquatize... the list goes on!

Does anyone have any opinions on these?

Oscar

I ssupect it does more good for the producer's wallet than the snake's health. ;-) That said, other critters (some lizards and some turtles, for example) do benefit from supplementation.

I'm with Cliff. I never use any additives or treatments in my animals' water. They get all of their nutrition from their diet, so as long as you are feeding them properly, they don't need anything else. Just keep their water clean and fresh and you should be good.

I have never treated the water I use for my snakes. They get all the vitamins and nutrition they need from a proper diet. The only exception I would make is if the local water had an additive that could be harmful to them...of course, it would probably be bad for humans too, and thus never make it into the system to start!
