Hey all,

Caught Jade out and about yesterday in the process of digesting her meal (the large FOOD BABY ), but noticed a mark on her head.. I have a feeling she may have hit her head on something but I'm not entirely sure.. Does anyone know what it could be? Maybe she's scratched it trying to move around her waterfall or something?

Is something like this likely to heal over the next shed cycle?

Cheers, Oscar

If she's not favoring it and does not react when you touch it, I would not worry, Oscar. As Ash said, it should heal in time. If you are worried, you can always put a tiny little dab of Neosporin on the area -- I've done this before with scale issues, though admittedly in case where the area was bigger and worse (a rock python).

Yeah none of that to be seen.. Just appeared one day. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, I tried washing it incase it was retained shed, but it isn't. I was just a tad concerned as to what it was!

I had same thing like this with one of my cornsnakes and it was from the objects in the viv had ripped one of the scales off the head but was advised by a herp vet that it would heal after 3 to 4 shed's and which it did do.

Personally i think you should not worry about this unless there is blood and flesh hanging out.
