Posted - 27/02/2011 : 11:50:35 I really don't understand this at all i weighed both my brbs last night and Mayhem came in at 164g and Bow came in at 143g.
I thought the female was supposed to grow bigger than the male and not to mention that Bow has had 6-7 more feeds than Mayhem due to Mayhem being a fussy feeder at the start it has really puzzled me . |

I agree: so long as they eat, don't sweat it. My oldest male weighs just as much as my oldest females did before breeding season began.
Oh ok thats put my mind at rest then..

Ages and weights for breeding females are a guide they may reach the appropriate age but not weight so its best concentrating your efforts, and enjoying the snakes, on the now and let the future take care if itself.

I wouldnt be worrying about it, there is no exact scientific rule for snakes growth rates, if they are both eating that's the main thing and they will both get bigger so don't lose any sleep over it. Sounds healthy enough to me.
Oh ok but they are my breeding pair in about 2 years time , does the female have to weigh in more than the male or is it the other way around or don't it matter ? |
