Finally, Living Gems is reaching the scale where we can pick and choose our breeder animals for the next year. We will have ten females large enough to breed this season, from which we will choose eight.
Our seventh pairing this year puts together Caesarion and Onyx in pursuit of a high orange litter. It is a new pairing.
Onyx

The lovely Onyx is one of the most intense orange rainbows I have ever seen. Born in May 2008, her color was so intense, in fact, that even a color fade could not wipe it all out. She has been paired with Scarface for the past two years, but has yet to produce any babies with him...so this year we will pair her with Caesarion…
Caesarion
…a beautiful orange male born in July 2010 who traces from the famous (and now unfortunately rare) Tim Frazier bloodline.

With Onyx weighing in at 2671 grams, this litter should produce a large group of very strong oranges.
