This week Living Gems Reptiles profiles one of its baby animals, Sodalite. Sodalite is a September 2010 female. She was acquired because of her high potential for deep red color. As of March 2011, she weighed 69 grams. Here she is in a sequence of three shots under different lighting, all taken from the top in March 2011:
Inside, No Flash
Inside, Flash
Outside
Her color is a bit obscured in these shots by a surprising amount of reflected light and iridescence, and it has picked up considerably since then. She’s looking like she could turn into a smoker!

Sodalite is a stunner Cliff. Who produced her if you don't mind me asking. Great pics. |

She was produced by Dave Colling, surprisingly from a pairing that I usually don't think of as delivering his best babies (although maybe that's just me -- one I'd gotten previously from that dam had not blown me away). Just goes to show you that you can never be sure where the stars will come from! Dave, BTW, is a great guy. |

I've followed both your and Dave's posts on another forum. I've never talked to him myself, but he seems pretty cool. |

Thanks Louise! I agree, that set captured her iridescence stunningly well.
LOL I know the forum, too, Jonathan! ;-)
Again, thanks for looking everyone! |
