Would like to here some views on the use of water conditioners as was talked into buying some for my royal some time ago By my local pet shop

I personally don't like the idea of adding more chemicals to already chemical-laden water. If you're really concerned about it, you could always keep a jug of water aside for 24 hours or so before you change the snake's water. That's usually enough time for things like chorine to dissipate.
There will always be heavy metals and such in it after 24 hours, but those are found naturally in water and are often required by anything that needs water to survive. Again, that's just a personal opinion |

I boil the kettle, let it cool, bottle it and refrigerate it in an effort to kill the chemicals. But now I've got so many snakes a kettle of water doesn't go very far! |

thanks guys i need to be a bit wiser with shop people paid what i now no to be an extortionate price for a lamp fitting which i could have got in maplins for a couple of quid |
