| i never see my brb flick his tongue or taste the air , is this normal ( he is my 1st brb ) i also keep hearing a clicking like noise coming from him , never heard a snake make this noise in the 5 plus years iv been keepin reps |

| Not to scare you, but a clicking noise *may* indicate an early respiratory infection, Doogle. How long has this been going on, and what are the climate conditions in his viv (lowest daily temp, lowest humidity)? |

| ive only had him about 2 weeks left him for a week before handling him and noticed it a couple of times over this week , the temps in my viv are an ambient temp of about 28c , my thermostat for my heat mat is set at a max of 31c , the cool end is swaying between 22 and 28 , through the day and night , and the humidity is about 86% , i rescued him and wasnt given any info on him like his feeds or shedding , and didnt see what he was kept in previously his old owners even gave me 2 everglade rat snakes cause they couldnt be bothered with them anymore |

| i was struggling a bit with humidity as you may of read in my photo , only being able to get it to 83% its now at 86% ish , still trying to get it into or close to 90% , i just phoned my vet to get an appointment for him to be checked for respiratory infection and his general health , but the reptile vet is on holiday till the 7 of january , do you think i should try and find another vet somewhere else or is it ok to wait , the earliest appointment i can get is the 11 of january , is there anything i can do to help him while waiting to see a vet |

| *If* it is an RI, and in the early stages, sometimes a snake can fight it off itself if viv temps are kept up. However, the danger is this: if the RI progresses past the early stages, the survival chances go way down. A 15-day wait is a loooong time for an illness to fester. Were it me, and I had any doubts at all, I'd take the snake in for a checkup ASAP. Good luck! |

| got him booked in this friday with a different vet for a check-up hoping if it is an RI ive caught it early , didnt want to wait for the vet i usually use toget back from his hols |
