as above was watching snakebytes and he was sexing them by looking at there tails.... anyone else do this?????? just want to make sure that mine is defo a female. cheers all |

Tail shape is not a good method with rainbows (at least Brazilians). The main options are probing (most difficult and highest risk, and requires equipment), popping (lower risk, but can still hurt the animals), and palpitating (my favorite and lowest risk to the animal, but it takes some time to figure it out). |

You basically "feel the snake up" by sliding one finger along its bottom, starting just past the vent, moving towards the tail. In a male, you will feel two definite bumps (the hemips). However, the method does take some practice.... |
