Now and then I capture a few nice headshots of Jasper, one of our up and coming juveniles. Now two years and ten months old, she has one of the darkest faces I have ever seen on a Brazilian Rainbow, which makes for some captivating pictures. The effect really stands out with shots taken from the direct front or three-quarters. Side shots show it to a degree, and the effect is there but less noticeable from the top.

Here she is modeling for the camera in May 2012.

We’ll start with some top shots, which as noted only show this effect to a degree. However, these shots give a good idea of the contrast between Jasper’s body and head.

Now we’ll move to some of those front/three-quarters shots. These shots really nail the effect.

Finally, here are some older shots from July 2011. These are very washed out due to the poor lighting at the time, but do a great job of showing just why her face is so dark:

Note the flicker of the tongue in the last shot.

I’m looking forward to seeing what she produces for offspring in either 2013 or 2014 -- especially since that dark face comes as icing on her full bullseye heritage.

Thank you for reading,

*Faints*

Why, Cliff....are you flirting with me? How did you know that I was pining away for some update photos of Jasper?!? ;) My heavens she is so beautiful. That dark face is the main reason why I fell in love with her to begin with. I can hardly wait for her to join the breeding foray. I am a patient woman...and I am ever so hopeful that I will be able to catch one of her offspring before everyone gobbles them up away from me. :D

*Dreamy sigh*

Thank you. ;) :D

LOL!!!! -- Who's the "incurable" one? ;-) I'd actually planned that seductive little snake centerfold spread some time ago, just kept getting delayed. Now hopefully Jasper does make the breeding pool in 2014...not, say 2015...or 2020... ;-)

Like I said, I'm a patient woman. :D I sure hope when/if she does make it into the pool, she passes that gorgeous dark face off to her babies. If not...well...you're just gonna have to send me her. ;) :D

LOL Jennifer! :D

Thank you, Dee and Bunny! If she wasn't so fussy about eating in shed, she'd be ready to go for next year!
