Forum newbie here (and not just this one, I've never actually participated in ANY forum before), so pardon me if I ask a lot of silly questions with obvious answers.
Just as a quick intro, my name is Jordie and I'm from Central Florida. I've always loved reptiles, much to my family's chagrin, and I remember falling in love with BRBs when I stumbled upon a picture of one in one of my grandmother's reptile books when I was about nine or ten. Now here I sit at twenty-one and I've finally convinced my dad and step-mom to let me and my brother buy one at the upcoming FIRExpo on September 1-2.
I've got a lot of questions housing-wise, but I'll post that in a different topic!
I'm really excited to become a part of this community and becoming really knowledgeable on BRBs, even before purchasing my first. |

Hello Jordie and welcome to the forum. You have chosen a great forum to join as your first - some very knowledgeable people on here who are kind enough to answer questions. Congratulations on persuading your Dad and step-mum on allowing you to get an awesome breed of snake Research prior to purchase is highly recommended, so start posting questions for information you can't find in existing posts. |

Hi Jordie! Welcome to TRBF. Major congrats on the persuasion! It can be a difficult road, but I think once they see how wonderful RBs are, they might wonder why they never let you have one sooner. ;) Please feel free to ask any questions at all, I am sure with the assortment of expert to novice keepers we have here, someone will be able to help out and point you in the right direction. You couldn't have picked a better forum to choose as your first, though I do have to admit that we're a bit slower here than at many of the other forums. Some of us only get on here every few days, so it can be a little while between your questions and a reply. Don't give up on us, though! Someone will be along before too long. ;) Enjoy your stay, I look forward to seeing pics of your new friend when you get it. |

Welcome to the forum, Jordie from Central Florida! You have picked a great species as a pet, and I salue your willingness to ask questions and learn before the actual pet arrives. Feel free to ask away! |

Welcome, it's nice to see such enthusiasm but tempered by a sensible approach. To many people just go and buy before understanding what it all entails. Not just with reptiles either. Sorry didn't mean to go off on one . There are people on here with a fantastic amount of knowledge and they are always willing to share, it's a great place to learn. Enjoy |
