Hi again guys, I'm confused... Now I've read in loads of places that humidity in a rub for young BRBs should be around 80%, which is where I have mine, but I've also read that humidity shouldn't be too high in case of ri's, mould growth and bacteria build up?
Should I localise the high humidity to a sphagnum moss hide only, in the rub or should the whole rub be at 80%? Please help, I want to get this right for my new addition!

Matt, Brazilian Rainbows tolerate high humidity *far* better than other species of snake. They are almost the reverse of other snakes: they get RIs and other problems when the humidity gets too low. Aim for 90% plus for a baby, and 80% for an adult. And yes, access to a smaller high humidity area is fine -- my vivs hit that target in the moist hides, with the rest of the viv being a bit drier.

Cheers snakesitter, should the walls of the rub be 'wet' with condensation?

My enclosure walls usually are not, but my moist hides inside those enclosures are always damp from condensation. If not, I know I need to spray. So...condensation is a good sign.

So I found a hygrometer for a decent price (but the humidity sensor is on the main unit-not useful so will probably have to exchange it-boo :( ). Set up a plastic rub (no air holes yet) with a wet towel and a heat pad underneath to play with heat and humidity. It is reading 28 degrees and 88% humidity. How do I get it up to 90%? Although this is my hotter UHH I should still probably get a thermostat for it, right? Actually might have to get new UTH as I peeled the backing off of this and it is dirty and won't totally adhere to the RUB. Just need to find myself some spaghnum moss and make some hides (ideas?) and then wait patiently for May....

@ Spugy - not sure I could be patient enough to wait until May.
As for making moss/moist hides I use a cleaned out plastic butter tub with a hole for entry cut in low down on one side for my babies. This will be swapped for ice cream tubs (or any larger plastic tub) as they grow.
I assume my humidity will be as close to 90% in the hides so don't worry that is slightly lower outside the hides - hope this helps

I agree with Sue on the humidity. And the waiting. ;-)

Definitely get a thermostat. Not having one could kill your snake.
