Sounds like a solid plan! I really hope he eats for you. Remember, a live mouse hopper may do the trick and get him eating again, and I would definitely try that before the vet.

Yeah I went down the live route before ,as soon as my gf saw it DOH ,we now have a pet mouse lol

Cliff 5 mins ago I left a f/t just outside the hole in his substrate and just checked and its gone ,checked and theres a nice little belly bulge ,so this is the 2nd in just over 2weeks ,I'm happy as it went really quickly compared to last time

Tried him again as he,s still abit underweight and he flew for it like never before ,hopefully that's it now back to normal
