| Over the last three weeks i've struggled with humidity. I really am struggling to keep it above 50% when usually I have no problem keeping it above 95%. I've changed nothing, use the same substrate as usual, mist the same as usual, central heating is on the same as usual. I'm lost! My little girl is ok at the moment but I need to get it sorted before it effects her health. Anybody have an idea whats happening? |

| It's not just that you are measuring it from a different place is it? I expect the humidity in her moss hide (assuming you have one) is a lot higher? Also although you say the substrate is the same, maybe it has dried out a bit? When I first put my orchid bark in the humidity was fabulous as it was still damp from a brand new unopened bag, but within a few days it had started to dry out (and I expect the stuff still in the bag will be drier than it was previously as well) and we then took to misting morning and evening and that's worked a treat. |

| Tweek, your issue may well be the result of seasonal swings. During the winter in California, for example, my humidity runs extremely low in the main enclosures -- often flirting with 50%. However, I set my vivs up to address this: I create a two-level environment by providing large humid hides with small openings, and these maintain their humidity levels even when the general viv level falls. |
