Now that the rush of the Christmas holiday is over, I've got some time to post some more pictures. Things have been going very well and Pa'ula seems to be happy in her new home. She did strike at me the first time I took her out of her cage (and landed 2 bites on me) but I hardly felt anything and was only more determined to pick her up after that. I think it had to do with the fact that I had to uncover her as she was buried and it may have startled her a bit. But once I had her in my hands she calmed down. Noticed a few drops of blood on my hand but it had stopped after a few seconds. But on to the pictures!
One of my favorite pictures of her so far, also the first picture I took after pulling her out.
She was much more mobile than the first time I held her, going all over the place
Then she noticed that I had a phone in my other hand taking pictures of her.
She seemed to be interested in the camera...
 Really interested.
Once she's out she usually doesn't want to go back in.
But eventually she decides to cooperate.
The first thing she does when she's back in is bury herself.
These are all from last week, haven't taken any more since then. I plan on taking a few pictures tonight as she just shed for me! This morning I found a nice clean shed in her cage. Checked it over to make sure it was all the way tip to tail and had the eye caps and it did, so I'm pretty happy. She didn't take to the rat pinkie I offered last Monday, about a week after I got her, and I plan on trying again tonight.
I'll make sure to take more pics and post them soon.

Looking good!
Re the bite, they can be that way when young or nervious due to a new environment.
Re the camera, I think they see it as something nearby to climb on. It makes for cute picts though.
Well done! |
