Hi i have a BRB approx 2 years old, 3ft in length. One of my friends dads BRBs has just had 12 babies and i was wondering if i could house my 2yr old and a baby in the same viv without the 2yr old eating the baby?
I know that people say its not wise because its harder to monitor thier health etc so please dont reply if your just going to contridict me.
Also i assume the baby will need a small RUB to start off with for a few months rather than just plonking it straight into a 3ft viv with the 2yr old?

Thanks for your time and i hope you can help me

i'm not against co-habiting but like you say there are risks involved. the pairs i do co-habit are only my cornsnakes and are my adult (10 years old) breeding pair (1 male and 1 female) and the sub-adults (2-3 years old) are in single sex pairs (2 males together and 2 females together) and i'm 110% sure of their sexes. they're very carefully matched ages and sizes. i also have full provision to split up all of my pairs should the need arise.
in your case, with two snakes of very different ages and sizes, unknown sexes, and under a safe breeding age, i personally wouldn't recommend it. i'd recommend thoroughly reading this thread http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1070 before making and decisions
