Wow thanks Hydro, that snake is gorgeous!! Any more info we could have on it? I'd be really interested to learn about origins. Is it a natural species or a new type of morph? It's absolutely beautiful!

Nice looking assisi, Hygrophilus! How much does she weigh?

Oakleyman, the "assisi" is a "Caatinga" rainbow, one of about ten different subspecies of epicrates cenchria, the rainbow boa. I don't believe they are very common in the trade, so it's great to see one...even is the owner is way far away in Brazil! Originally discovered in the 1940s I believe? I also think they stay smaller than Brazilians, but Hygrophilus would know more than I.

Thanks for sharing!

Exact Snakesitter. E. assisi is very common in the hobby here in Brazil. But usually we find a color that has drawn more pro brown and gold, like this: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2290/2402496145_848d0480f3.jpg

This photos is from a different location of the majority, why has this distinctive coloration. There is also suspicion that a mutation, because until now only three were found. The female, a male who belongs to a friend and that will cross with her, and that is a zoo in Sao Paulo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/richardsajdak/1324713079/

I'll weigh it and then say here.
Regarding the size, unless they really are cenchria hardly pass of 1.20 m.

Very nice pictures, and very informative! I wish you luck in the breeding of a possible new morph! (Hmm: epicrates cenchria assisi hygrophilus???)
