I have tried twice now to get my boa onto rabbits but with no interest at all,sotoday i thought i would sceat it with a rat which she has never refusedbut still no reaction so hid te rat under the rabbit and left all 3 in the rub,came back 20mins later and she had found the rat and eat it,even trid the rabbit with the head taked off but no interest

i would stick the rat head on the wabbit and then try.....

I would send the rabbits up to my house and the ferrets will make good use of them

It's got to be a scenting thing. She might just not recognise the scent of rabbit as food.

Are you using the smallest rabbits you can find? Maybe the size is also daunting her?

yep,their netherland dwarf rabbit but very fluffy,i mentioned to kehhlyr that it might be a fur thing as the rats are usualy wet/damp and i been letting the rabbits thaw overnight then bunged on the radiator for 20 mins,will try the next one water defrosted,the scent might be too strong on them too

i'm not even bothering to try moving Johnny on to rats yet, it's coming up to that time of year when things are going off their food anyway so i'm waiting till next year now

Marilyn just took to rabbits straight away, eating them better than she used to take rats!

Hi Ali , Sorry to ask a silly question but just need to know the correct answer .. Why do most snakes go off there food at this time of year is it due to getting ready to go in to breeding season for next year ?
