I don't think i will be buying any more plantation soil again after i run out , It's a mess and gets everywhere and not to menstion the brbs get all the soil in there water bowl and its a hassel to deal with , think i will stick to using bark for the brbs. |

Agree. I never even used it when I got mine. I setup the rub ready for Sissy and realised just how messy it was gonna be so changed it and now I use moss. She can still burrow in it and seems very happy. |

I agree with you both. 'Course, I also wind up with pieces of moss littering my floor, so it's kind of no win.... ;-) |

I find that I just can't maintain high enough humidities in the Viv with Bark Sticking with the soils I think! It is a bit of a bee-hatch though,,, |

Would it be ok to use a set up full of moss as substrate but of course you would have to keep all moss damp through out right ? |

I have moss throught and I try to keep just the warm end damp but of course due to the condensation the cool end still gets damp.
What I do though is provide a dry hide at the cool end which is a small tub with a hold cut into it with some dry kitchen roll inside. That way she still has a dry place to go. The paper does get a little damp but not wet. |

Bark and syphagnam moss mix seems to work for me. I do have the humidifier though. Keeps it nice and moist. |

I use compressed coconut husk. I it is great for the high humidity needed. Doesn't mold or break down too quickly. I couldn't find any recently for my last change so I am on the eco-earth soil substrate that is just ground up coconut husk really fine. |
