Hi well i shall tell how this happend first then you will understand how Mayhem ate some beef ..
Well i was handling Mayhem and my misses was chopping some beef up in to dice chunks for our stew and as i walked near the beef to look at it i forgot i had Mayhem in my hand and he striked at the plate full of beef dice chunks and hit one of the beef cubes and started to eat it i tried to pull it out of his mouth but was unable to i am very worried , The beef its self is raw and not cooked , after he ate it i kept handling him to hope for a regurge but he didn't regurge so i put him back in to his RUB , This happend yesterday and it has been over 12 hours now i have checked him to see if he is ok and he seems fine. Should i be worried in any way and should i seek herp vet?? |

i dont think it will do any harm as lizards eat meats and to behonest it is just another animal, so in theory shouldn't do him any harm. i dont see why you wanted him to regurge though as this can cause more than problems than good, even if you didn't want him to eat it, it prob was not best method lol hope hes fine for you, little treat for him |

The reason why i wanted him to regurge it as it had salt and pepper and few herbs mixed in it alonge with olive oil . |

Wow. I remember when Mayhem was a "problem feeder."
While I'd never recommend feeding a snake anything with salt, pepper, and olive oil, chances are there were only trace amounts, especially after you tried prying it away from him. Make sure he has lots of clean water to drink, and watch him carefully over the next few days. Other than that, I suspect he'll be fine.
And on the bright side, now you know how to get him to eat! ;-) |

Thanks Cliff , What would the salt , pepper and olive oil and herbs do to him ? I just checked on him now its been around 29hours since he ate it and he has pooed and seems active as normal with lots of tongue flickering , I'm a little concerned with him striking at some beef as we know he was a fussy feeder and now he could go off mice or rats and refuse to eat unless its beef i hope that won't be the case with him i can't bare to go all through the non feeding stage again. |

I wouldn't of thought it could do any harm in a small amount. As has been said, just keep an eye out for unusual behaviour over the next couple days. |

Just anything that is totally different from the norm. That being said, by midday today it's gonna be about 48hours since you posted, so would assume about the same time since it happened. I would've thought any adverse affects would've shown up by now.

no as it would not contain any bones or anything like which helps with nutrients and calcium (i think) so no beef would not be a good food source |

unless its a full cow i wouldn't , there's not enough nutritional requirements in it as Danny has said. |
