Hi every one I'm just wondering what people are using for heating and lighting, I'm currently using a heat lamp in the day and a heat mat with a thermostat which then stays on all night.

Does anyone use red bulbs? or something other than heat mats? maybe a normal bulb in the day and a red in the night? or maybe one of those fancy heat trays?

I use a large heat mat on a thermostat with normal light bulbs shining into the tank from above and that seems to keep everything alright.

A red bulb should be alright if you have a guard for it. Rainbows like to climb you see so it could get nasty if they chose to climb around the bulb.

I would be tempted to get a ceramic, bcause we've just got one for the royal and it's brilliant for raising the air temperature, but not sure how useful it would be with the high humidity.
