Here's Ruby's new viv, that we have kitted out with live and plastic plants to make it a bit more rainforesty

The substrate is a mixture of orchid bark and coco husk, with Hydroleca balls underneath to hold in moisture. The coco background on the back should also help with humidity and is were the live plant is rooted.

This is her warm hide- which looks big, but because it's plastic it must keep the humidity close to her as it's her favourite hide.

Her she is exploring her new surroundings.

We are also going to cover the sides with green paper to make it more secure for her. Just not got around to it yet.

Oh yeah, forgot about that.

God knows, we haven't got a telly, so we just knick random dvds from Lewy's brothers room when we visit

I will have to watch it more often, and form a more detailed opinion. What time and day? Channel 4 right?

I'm not really bothered about the animal eating really, He just annoys me- and I think he talks out of his a*** a lot of the time. He makes things seem more dangerous than they actually are and I think if I met him at a dinner party I would have to make my excuses before the main course if he ended up at my end of the table. No one likes a show off smart-arse, especially when sometimes his knowledge isn't perfect. I watched one and he said a Caecilian was a limbless lizard!!! Everyone on the 'damp side' knows that a caecilian is an amphibian not a reptile! Shocking!

He bothers me but at the same time he doesnt. I can watch it fine and find some of it quite good. But the killing of all the animals is a bit unneccisary(sp?). It doesnt bother me to watch it on tv, but if I was there then maybe it would.

Ruby is behaving ok- she ate the other day- but it was a mouse so don't know if we are just making things harder for ourselves in the long run. She seems to be settled in her new home though, so that's good.

Me and Lewy are traitors! We watched Bear Grylls the other day eating a snake and we didn't even flinch, but then he ate a little tiny tree frog and we both went ''. Shows we have gone a bit towards the 'damp side' of amphibians a bit.

The snake was a gaboon though and they are bad! Plus he ate a little snake of random origin and it was still wriggling without it's head when it went in. Maybe I didn't get angry because I was secretly hoping the snake would make him sick. I bet it did- imagine that moving in your stomach!

hee hee- Bear Grylls is a prat

no i was liking the idea of a Bear Grylls/Girls thread.................

somewhere to rant about the snakes he eats................ somewhere for snippets of photos where you have to guess if it's Bear Grylls or Bare Girls................

There are so few members its hard to stay on topic!

So is Ruby eating better now or is she still misbehaving?

Unfortunately bare girls wouldn't touch you with a barge pole (allegedly)

Hi John the background is cocohusk background, you can get it from Cornish Crispa Co or other online shops:

http://www.cornishcrispa.co.uk/index.php?cPath=290

There's a viv plant up/ Build on theamphibian.co.uk of how we stuck this stuff on - Basically, it's stuck to the tank using animal safe silicon, We did the same for Ruby's Tank as we did with the Pacman frog's tank

Here's the build link:
