Went to feed Rio last night and before popping in her mouse on it's little plastic plate, I checked on her as usual and felt quite hurt when instead of greeting me, she hissed petulantly and balled up. I left her be with her mouse and on checking this morning we still had an empty boa and a dead mouse, noticing she was in exactly the same position I lifted her out to check on her, cue more hissing but no attempts to bite, and she seems to be in shed!
The "I can't believe it bit" is that when I jokingly lifted the mouse plate in my right hand and said "Guess you're not hungry!" she stretched across from my left hand and grabbed it! Ended up holding her while she death-rolled it and gulped it down! Great being able to see so closely, especially since she's usually a nervous feeder and my corns a very excitable feeder and thinks anything in or around the feeding tub is food!
Sorry for the waffly tale, vey excited! |

Definately not hand feeding her as an adult! I was a bit nervy today!
She last shed with her breeder aprox 4 weeks ago according to her records, but she's only 5 months old, maybe she's growing fast? She also took her first small mouse last week and another today, so that might give her a spurt. Possibly a sign she's going to be a big girl! |

It's very possible to have a monthly shed, especially just after an increase in food size. Glad she ate for you! Guess you know now what do to make her eat every time. ;-) |

How big is she now, 'Chica', my BRB is nearly 4 months, and a bit over 2ft, weighing around 70g. |

I have to say I'm not entirely sure! She's somewhere in the 2 foot region, but haven't been able to measure or weigh her yet whatever she did weigh I'm knocking off at least a couple of grams for the big mess she left for me in her humid hide today!
Chica sounds like a lovely big girl!
