Hey guys,
I'm going to be getting a yearling brazilian rainbow pretty soon, but I'm having trouble the humidity in the cage up. I will be keeping her in a large rubbermaid tube until she outgrows it, then I'm going to get a boaphile cage. I know that they need 80+ humidity. I am having trouble getting the humidity above 72ish. I am spraying down everything multiple times, and even dumping water in occasionally. I also have a very large water dish on the cool side. But I just cant get the humidity up. Do you guys have any advice? I need to make sure I can keep it consistently high before I get the boa.

Joe--
The essentials of humidity management are a moss-packed hide that is kept moist inside, a large flat water bowl that is kept on the *hot* side (to promote evaporation), a substrate conducive to retaining moisture, and a living container that minimizes air exchange with the outside world. Switch her water to the warm side, add a moist hide if you do not have one, and see how many air holes you have in your tub -- if too many, cover a few. Revisit 24 hours after that and let us know where you stand.

| Great thank you. I just got moss for the hides and a reptile fogger so hopefully that does the trick |

| Foggers, while some have had great success, should not be essential to keeping this species. Might I ask what type/brand you picked up? |

| I got the Zoo Med Reptile Fogger. It's definitely not my only means of keeping up humidity. I just thought that it might help out |
