Hey all!
I've only ever had direct experience with corns until I got Jade, so only ever fed corns large mice, which took about 3/4 days until passing through the system..
What's the average time with BRB's being fed on rats? I'm still on weaner rats right now, although this will change soon enough, but it's taking a good 5/6 days until passing usually.. What are your guys experiences with this? Cheers! |

Oscar, it varies widely by individual. Some will complete the, umm, "process" with five to six days, others tend to take two or even three weeks before you see the, err, "results." If you really want to test, next time you feed her, do not feed again until she passes, and then repeat. That way you get the most accurate single meal-to-single deposit count. |

I tell ya, I keep records of poops, pees, sheds, etc. I still haven't figured out a "time" for my girl to do her cycles. lol. She seems to pee a lot more than poop, but rainbows like water, and I am always filling her pool up. Cliff has the best idea though, do as he says and you can get an idea of the entire "process".
Cliff, she's doubled in size since I put her on the "rat diet". I have 3 females now nursing younguns. It was a great idea to start breeding my own rats. She just bloomed on the rats. Mice are great but they won't grow much on em.

It takes a *lot* of mice to support an adult Brazilian. Onyx, one of our mature females, always insists on mice around this time of year. Yesterday she downed four in one sitting, and could probably have taken more.
Glad to hear your girl is doing well, Joe! |
