I thought I'd post a couple of pics of the wee lass as she was being relocated from her box to her faun. She was quite reluctant to get off me actually and kept trying to climb back up my arm, bless!
We're just leaving her alone to settle in now and will offer her a teeny rat this weekend.

ahhhh, i love boas, she's a real sweetie
i was looking at John Berry's boas at Donny show, the dwarf locality crosses really appeal, they were gorgeous! |

I'm not sure if we saw those, we didn't get there until about lunch time and it was heaving! Do the dwarfs have different markings or are they just smaller?
There's a guy on the dark side called Carpy with an 11' BCI.  I'm hoping Feather's going to stay < 8' though. |

11' OMG! that's why i wouldn't get a regular sized BCI/BCC, up to 8' is manageable though, a much better size, the Dums could just about get to that too
John Berry was in the left hand corner as you walked in to the show, had a very professional looking display stand with tubs in and was very informative to talk to. the various island boas tend to stay smaller than mainland species, prolly due to the limited gene pool so he's crossed various locality boas with mainlands to reduce their size but keep their main characteristics.
he had royals too but TBH i didn't look at them at all lol |

Yes, 11ft is massive, but 8ft is still considerable since they are large bodied too. Love boas to bits, but not took the step yet, just because of the size really. |

| TBH I think that the 11' one may have been powerfed. I know boas are heavy snakes, but most I've seen look muscular rather than fat. I'm prepared for the fact that Feather could potentially exceed 8', so once she's settled in she'll be getting handled regularly. Not that that will be a chore, one of the reasons for me wanting a boa was in the hopes that she wouldn't spend her entire life lurking in her cave! |

| Well, last night Feather had her first proper handling and her first feed! She was brilliant to handle, much more laid back than Princess. She doesn't seem to be in the least bit skittish, she'd have a bit of an explore then get herself into a comfy position and just chill out there for a while. Then she'd explore a bit and then sprawl out and chill again. She was a little star! I offered her a rat fluff after she'd been back in her faun for an hour or so and she didn't seem interested so I left it in for her overnight. This morning it was gone. She's either eaten it or hidden it somewhere! |

| Feather chomped again last night! I went to bed quite early while she was still asleep so I left the fluff in the doorway to her warm cave and she hoovered it up in the night. |
