Quick Indigo update.
I made him wait 15 days for his small feed - he was given a rat pink tonight, now just have to wait and see what happens.

Thanks, I have every thing crossed
Ruby has now successfully had two consecutive 'larger' feeds - so really pleased with her.

Indigo seems ok, no regurge after his last feed and is currently cruising round my lap top.

How is Prism?

Awww that's great news

I don't have any though

She finally shed the other night after a week of me being sure she was going to, then finally her eyes clouded and cleared again. Phoned the pet shop about getting a live pinky and the bloke was away for the weekend to attend the big rep show in Hamm lol! Tried her again anyway with a pinky defosted amongst some tuna as I hadn't tried that one yet lol but nope, not a sniff :(

The most annoying thing was I had just got some feeding tongs so thought I'd try feeding with those for a change, jiggled it about fast but gently and she seemed to be showing a real interest so I got all excited... she promptly climbed up the pink, up the tongs, up my hand and out to see me *bangs head on wall*

She really is the friendliest little thing - my corns still hide when I go to get them out lol! She still seems amazingly full of energy too I was really worried about her the other week, but since shedding she's perked right up! Can't survive on thin air forever though

Hopefully I will be able to speak to the bloke from the rep shop Weds (closed today and Tues) but I'm really worried now as the person I spoke to in the shop says the guy they got the rat pink from ONLY breeds rats and that she doesn't think they'll be able to even GET a mouse. Everywhere else just refuses outright if I say I'm after live...

I contacted the EHS (the guys who ran the show we got her from) on RFUK recently, and they said they would try to find details of the breeder for me (I would have thought it would be as easy as looking it up on a sheet considering I explained the exact position in the room of the table we got her from but apparently not lol). The guy I was speaking to reckons he's bred rainbows and keeps them at 30C (which Snakesitter says is too high) and that my humidity of minimum 85% up to 90% sounds far too high... but I'm sticking with the advice I have had on here!

So pleased Prism has shed for you, Orinoco took longer than I thought to shed so missed a feed and promptly shed 2 days after I eventually fed her thinking I had got it wrong about her shedding, lol.
It is good Prism is still full of energy and I too can't believe how friendly my two are compared to my corns.
My two have hot ends at 28.6 and their humidity is usually 88% but does drop lower - I don't worry as they always have a moss hide which will always provide an area of high humidity. I trust the info from Snakesitter and CDN Blood (plus others on here) over any thing else I have been told.
I found a fairly local person on RFUK who can provide both live and frozen rats and mice - he has currently just grown some rat babies to a weight I requested (between the size Indigo is back on currently and the larger size he regurged)
I would think it might be possible for you to find a source of 'live' fairly close to you. You could try placing a wanted ad in the food classified section, I have seen other wanted adds for live prey items.
I hope the EHS can help with the breeders details - I too would have thought it would be a case of just looking up who had the table in the position you told them.
I hope Prism eats soon.

Glad to hear Prism shed! Her ignoring the food to visit you sounds like a typical "not interested" snake story, funny at the same time it worries you. I'm sure she'll come around. Some animals just insist on mice, not sure why.

Have you spoken to people in your local herp society? I'm sure one of them will know a live food source. Advertising on a site or in a paper can be tricky, as it exposes the rodent vendor to legal risk.

If you cannot find a mouse soon, you may be able to get soiled mouse cage shavings from a store (the more soiled the better), and place a live rat pink in those. It should impart at least some smell -- even more so if you feed the snake in that same container.

If even that fails, take her to a vet or an experienced keeper for a tube feeding.

Good luck, my fingers are crossed for you!

Thought an update was due (long over due )
Indigo has been moved back up to the larger food item and no problems, due another feed in 3 days, hopefully he will now start to grow again

Might aswell update on Ruby too - she is happily taking the larger food items and is growing nicely.
Pleased with both of these
