10 weeks ago i bought a rainbow ,sold as a peruvian but i wouldnt know the difference as im no expert, but i got him home left it a week. fed no probs .nice big pooh few days later ,sweet .next feed got taken into a hide but didnt think i should disturb him as it was on the way down .checked him a couple days later still had quite a big lump so the next day i checked and he had regurgetated his fuzzy ,YUK.but there was still a bulge ,so thought damn hes eaten abit of the orchid bark grrrrr, put him in the bath to see if i could get a movement ,had a small pooh but still bulging ,so i left him another couple days and the bulge went down so tried a pinky and he took it .that came back up over night ,then a day later i found a very odd looking THING in the substrate and realized it was the piece of bark he ate so was relieved , after a couple of weeks no intrest in food and shying away from it i took him to the vet to make sure no ri ,all good. noticed a small amount of wieght loss so wieghed him and he had lost 8 grams from 84g down to 76g,regular feeding attempts failed for the following weeks.but last night i offered a fuzzy he came out showing intrest but kept retreating away so i left it in over night and today it was gone ,i looked around to see if he had just moved it but i couldnt see it ,i didnt want to dig the snake out of the substate {now moss}but im assuming he ate it so i will take a look tommorow to see if its been regurgetated of if its kept down |

Lonerider, if he's eating substrate, put down a plate or towel for the snake to eat on to prevent that in the future.
Also, check your cage conditions in case that is effecting his appetite. Temps that are too high or humidity that is too low can impact their health.
Did you ask the vet to palpitate him during your visdit, just to check for further ingested substrate? |

Your temps and humidity seem spot on.
Did he keep the latest meal down?
Try filling his hide with most moss instead of substrate (meaning, even eliminate the substrate under it). That way, if he tries breakfast-in-bed again, no harm done.
If he continues to have problems, have an experienced herper palpitate him (meaning, feel along his body) to see if there is more ingested substrate. Has he gone to the bathroom? |

since tuesday night / wednesday morning its still down atm cliff ,the hide was a half coconut shell dry hide, now im only using moss as substrate, but when i clean him next i may use paper towel he,s got two moss hides aswell ,no toilet for about 3 weeks but have had some since ingesting the substrate so hopefully all will be ok ? if not ill get him to the vet again and get him to palpitate him or xray got a good reptile vet just down the road so thats a bonus and it was reasonably priced |

He looks fine. Eating is a good sign, and it would be too soon for waste from the latest meal -- it usually takes about a week (or, you changing the water plus fifteen minutes ;-) ). Just keep an eye on him! |

If he has kept his meal down it looks promising. Wait until a full week has passed and then offer again. If a week past that still does not produce any toilet, then consider having an expert palpitate him. BTW, he may be going, just hiding it well, so consider that carefully. |

See? He knows the holidays are coming and left you a gift. ;-) I'm sure the food will work out sooner or later, but keep one eye on the clock. If he hits six weeks with no food, try a live mouse hopper (under supervision). If he refuses that too, consult a vet, just in case. |

Agreed...just be aware that at some point they do need an infusion of calories. A vet can perform a (fairly non-invasive) "tube feeding," which sometimes gets their system going again.
Is he showing any interest in the food at all? |

Make sure you let at least three days pass between offerings. Normally, longer is better. |
