Living Gems is pleased to announce that on Saturday, July 20, Almandine became a Mom.

Almandine (Mom)

Scarface (Dad)

A shot of Almandine's viv from early on in the birthing process. Only a few early squirmers have made it out of the nest to explore.

A shot of Almandine's viv from late in the birthing process. Almost all of the babies are now out of the nest, as is Mom.

The pairing produced 20 babies in total. They range from 30 grams to 27 grams, with an average of 29. There were no stills, slugs, or birth defects (so far as we can tell).

More details will be forthcoming.

Thank you for reading,

Wow, I bet they'll be stunners with those parents too. Shame I'm so far away...

How are babies and Mum doing now?

Both Mom and babies are doing great, thanks! Mom shed this weekend and will be fed tonight, and the babies shed last week and were fed Sunday -- 18 out of 20 ate!

Glad to hear all are doing well (probably can't say that regards your fingers) 90% eating first time is pretty good, hope the remaining two eat soon for you
